Passport to Art Day 2

If you want to join in with making an altered book through the month of July click through to the Passport to Art challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt.  Today's theme is Passport and although I didn't make a passport for the page I did use a photo of myself.

I put a piece of masking tape across the page and spread gesso over the whole page.

I used Distress Inks again on this page.

I removed the masking tape.  I stamped on a tag and inked the edges.  I attached it to my page with foam so that it is raised off the page.  I cut up the quote and the verse, inked the edges and stuck them down.

I printed out a photo of myself using the mirror image setting.

I put the hand gel onto the tag as demonstrated on the video and put the photo on top and used the brayer to roll over the top.

I was impatient so I pulled the film off and so the image isn't totally complete.

The tag sits in the pocket.

I wrote my journaling on the back of the tag.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I have a strong allergic reaction to photo transfers . . just kidding, but i do shy away from them. It's funny - I had already made a passport on my own. So, for tomorrow, I'm going to finish filling the inside and decorate the pocket page (at the back of my book) where i keep it.
Very curious about the Visa for tomorrow.

  2. I have never tried this - so please may I ask if you printed your picture onto ordinary photo paper or on something else? The man in the video has done his image on acetate - so I am a little confused. I am liking everything so far - Thank you. J x

    1. I used the transparency that suits inkjet printers just as the man did in the video.

  3. I like how you are using the masking tape so I portion of each map page shows on your pages!
