About me

About me

I trained as a primary school teacher and later became a church administrator. Now I concentrate on all things creative including facilitating a course on Creativity.

I have taken part in many courses and workshops which have increased my skills and knowledge of techniques.

After successfully completing City & Guilds Creative Embroidery, I continued to work with textiles until Art Journaling and Mixed Media called. I particularly enjoy making books and have taught online workshops on altered books and themed books.

About my work

My return to textile art came through making a fabric and mixed media book and I am now exploring the combination of my mixed media and creative embroidery skills.

Over the past few years I have focussed on series of work based on Venice, Florida, Canals and Maps.

I have produced several wall hangings using fabric I have printed using breakdown printing. These have been inspired by the walks alongside canals in the Midlands with my husband. These pieces have been exhibitied at the Museum of Cannock Chase, featured in the newspaper Towpath Talk and exhibited at Forge Mill Needle Museum in Redditch.

My most recent work has been exploring the theme of Captivity, Freedom and Identity.  Some of this work was part of an exhibition called Expressions at Forge Mill Needle Museum with fellow textile artist, Becca.
