which participants can take in their own direction.
I work with a combination of stitch, paints and mixed media.
I am happy to deliver workshops to Textile and Papercraft groups, with due consideration given to distance to travel. Contact me to discuss your requirements.
These are the workshops I offer.
Petite Book
Make a 9x8 centimetre book from one piece of fabric. Decorate the pages with small fabric collages and hand stitch. The sample in the video is made with silk noil but in the workshop we will use calico; with the collages in colours of your choice.
Raid Your Stash Scraps Collage
Using fabric scraps left over from other projects, spend the day making fabric collages. Learn how this technique can be used for hangings or on a canvas. This project will not be finished within a day's workshop but full instructions for finishing will be given. Machine and hand stitching.
Using Text in Textiles
A day playing with various ways that text can be used in your textile work or inspire your work. Make a book from one sheet of A1 Mixed Media paper to keep your samples in.

Hanging Book
A one day workshop which introduces the hanging book. Full instructions are given for assembling the book with participants assembling their books during the workshop or later at home. There will be two methods of making the book offered on the day which participants can choose from. Other ideas for making this style of book will also be shown. The book will not be finished in one day.
Exploding Book
suitable for textile groups or papercraft groups
An introduction to assembling an exploding book – easier than you think! A collage based workshop using paper and card which can be developed into textiles. Various styles and uses for the book will be suggested. Three other methods of folding a book will also be shown.
Painted Tiles
A one day workshop using acrylic paints, stencils, Thermofax screens, stamps and printing with a Venice/Gothic architecture theme. A kit will be provided (at extra cost) which includes a 20cm square canvas, cotton fabric and different papers. The morning consists of using the wet media on the fabric and papers. The afternoon is spent hand stitching and assembling the ‘tile’. For those not inspired by an architectural theme there is the possibility of a nature theme.
This workshop will be phased out in March 2027
