I have managed to work in my February challenge sketchbook every day so far. Only today and tomorrow left! My previous post is here.
Day 21
Copies of a seedhead photo altered to black and white and to greyscale, stuck into my sketchbook and stamped over.
Day 22
A paper I wiped my brayer onto when I was doing gelli printing with extra stencilling and stamped leaves collaged on.
Day 23
Collage on a painted background
Stamping with a stamp I made from a large eraser
Day 24
A string stamp
Stamping on a painted background - all too fussy for me
Day 25
Acrylic paints to make the background. Stencilled on top and drawn into with black and white pens
Day 26
Inspired by the work of Cas Holmes and Jane LaFazio. Neocolor II crayons on a gesso background. Stamped and faux stitching
Day 27
Tags cut from painted paper. Collaged, stencilled and faux stitching
Thanks for stopping by.

Glimpses of Jesus 8
Glimpses of Jesus in the Old Testament is a year long bible study written by Simon Clay of Jubilee Church Solihull. You can join in at any time.
Today's post is about the royal line of Judah.
My journal page already had letters stamped on it and I left them as words are made up of letters and prophecy is made up of words.
I used a stencil to draw the letters of Judah and cut a photo of a lion from a travel brochure. I journaled around the edge.
It's not too late to join in with our Bible Study. Do have a look back through the posts on the Glimpses of Jesus blog where you will find links to other people's art and poetry.

More from Sketchbook Daily
This is my third post about daily entries in my sketchbook. Last week's post is here: February Daily.
Day 14
I scraped grey paint (rather too thickly) through a dandelion stencil on a piece of painted paper. I cut the paper into 3 inch squares and then each square into 5 strips. I mixed up all the strips and reassembled them.
Day 15
Another collage using the gelli prints plus some previously printed repair tissue
Day 16
A monoprint stuck into my sketchbook with bits of stencilled repair tissue on top and then leaves stencilled with black paint
Day 17
Stencilling and mark making
Rolled a mix of paints with a brayer as a background and then stencilled over
Day 18
Piece of paper where I cleaned up the paint I'd been using. Stuck into my sketchbook and stencilled over with a black pen and then doodled on.
Day 19
I went off-piste with a page in my sketchbook today. I read in Cas Holmes' Stitch Stories book about putting paper napkin over a map. I have used paper napkins before but not over a map. The method in the book seemed very complicated and involved bondaweb and other stuff. I just used gel medium as I usually do.
Back on course!
A piece of painted paper from a previous course with some stamping and a photo on the left. When I pluck up the courage I'll have a go at drawing on the painted paper
A photo I took of grasses. I tried making the image bigger and changing it to greyscale and to black and white. I drew with a water brush and some watercolours.
Day 20
I attended a printing workshop today and used some thermofax screens to print on this Khadi paper. At home I stuck the paper into my sketchbook and did the stitch lines with a pen.

Glimpses of Jesus 7
Glimpses of Jesus in the Old Testament is a year long bible study written by Simon Clay of Jubilee Church Solihull. You can join in at any time.
Today's post is about Joseph's life and how his experiences foreshadowed Jesus in Genesis 37-50.
I cut out the shape of a cloak/dress and used watercolours to colour the left side as thought it was made from patchwork. I wrote the similarities on each side of the coat and glued it into my journal.

February Daily
This is my second post about working daily in my sketchbook through February. My first post can be found here.
Day 7
A collage using papers I already had.
I went back to this page from last week and woroked into it with Neocolor I crayons.
Day 8
I was trying out a colour exercise from Dina Wakley but it didn't totally work out!
I went back to start working into this. Still needs work.
Day 9
I made quite a few monprints with my gelli plate limiting the colour scheme. These are just a few of them. I used sketchbook paper and Deli paper for the prints.
This sketchbook page started from putting the wet stencil from the monoprinting onto the page. I went back and used Pan Pastels through the stencil on the left.
Day 10
A collaged background using some of the monoprints plus some other bits.
Day 11
I glued one of the monoprints into my sketchbook and then collaged the pieces on the right. I drew round the image of the leaf on the left that was part of the monoprint.
Day 12
Another collage.
Day 13
I limited myself to a few sheets of paper on the table next to me and used the same papers in each of these 3" square collages. When the glue was dry I used a bottle top and white acrylic paint to stamp circles and then sketched over the top with a black pen.
Thanks for stopping by.

More from my Venice project
I saw this blog post by Anna-Karin Evaldsson and thought I could do something similar for my Venice sketchbook.
Apart from the fact that I didn't have the same stencils, colours of paint or ink pads - but that aside I'd give it a go. I stuck some Italy related bits and pieces that I had bought from Julie Kirk - she made this pack especially for me. I painted over it with a yellow acrylic mixed with glaze medium.
I stencilled some brown paint.
Added some more stencilling with a flesh colour acrylic.
Stamped randomly over it all
Stencilled again and decided it was all rather brown.
So I mixed some yellow glaze and put it over the top and then decided it was too yellow!
So painted grey over it and then wiped some of it off.
I had mixed a lot of the yellow glaze so I stencilled a piece of Deli paper with it.
I used gel medium to glue some pieces of painted repair tissue onto it.
I used some stamps designed by Michelle Ward and then I started on the red paint. I read the instructions again - I wonder why really because apart from the number of layers it's nothing like Anna-Karin's piece. Anyway she had said use texture paste.
I mixed the red paint with the fibre paste - which of course made it a bit pink! Anyway, I stencilled the shapes with the fibre paste and then when it was dry tried to darken it with black paint and then lighten it with buff white.
By this time, I decided I'd be better off leaving it alone for a bit. I will come back to it when I decide what it needs. It's not saying Venice to me yet.
What would you do with it?
Thanks for stopping by.

Glimpses of Jesus 6
Glimpses of Jesus in the Old Testament is a year long bible study written by Simon Clay of Jubilee Church Solihull. You can join in at any time.
Today's post is about the sacrifice that Abraham was to make of Isaac in Genesis 22.
I found a photograph of a lamb rather than a lamb caught up in branches (see Genesis 22:13) and put the verse on using Publisher. I printed it out the full size of my journal page.

February Sketchbook Challenge
I recently joined a group on Facebook called Sketchbooks and Experiments for Textiles and a challenge was set up to do something creative in a sketchbook every day through February. I work much better with challenges and accountability so I jumped in.
Day 1
I chose seedheads and started by putting the handmade card I had been sent into the sketchbook and stamped and drew on the page next to it.
Day 2
I stuck this painted paper in that I made when I was doing the Make It Personal class with Hilary Beattie. I used a string stamp I'd made to stamp in the space.
Day 3
I copied this design from a piece of work I found on Pinterest by textile artist Anne Brooke. Her piece is machine stitched. I drew my 'stitches' with a pen! I have done a class with Anne although not this one!
Day 4
Collaged squares using painted paper, dictionary paper and a map. Seedheads drawn over the top
Day 5
Gelli plate printing fun
I cleaned off my roller in the sketchbook and then stamped on top.
I stuck the gelli print I had made into my sketchbook and then spent most of Friday evening making stitch marks with a pen. Haven't decided whether to fill in the last bit or leave it as contrast.
I left one section blank. I don't know whether to put 'stitches' in that or leave it as a contrast. What do you think?
Day 6
Another gelli print stuck into my sketchbook and then some stamped prints on repair tissue glued on top.
Gelli prints, painted papers and dictionary paper collaged together
Most of these pages still need work and I will come back to them but in the meantime I am enjoying randomly adding bits to my sketchbook.
Thanks for stopping by.
