I recently had a big clearout of the blogs on my Google Reader because I realised I was spending more time looking at other people's art than I was getting on with any of my own. So I pruned the list from around 160 to 60. Sorry if you didn't survive the cut!
Shimelle has suggested that on the 10th of each month we take part in a blog hop of lists of 10 things. So for my first list here in no particular order are 10 of my favourite blogs.

The Paint Sisters
I have just spent a fabulous 3 days in Harrogate with the Paint Sisters ~ Dyan Reaveley & Dina Wakley ~ at Art from the Heart.
Over the 3 days we made 3 different art journals on the theme of Sun, Moon and Stars.

Day 1: Sun
There was lots of dripping and splodging of paint. Stencilling. Collage. Drawing and a little bit of writing. (but not much on my part!) Then we bound the pages using sticks - a whole new technique for me.

Day 2: Moon
More paint splodging with stamping this time in a concertina book. This has envelope inserts and tags and should have had some journaling about the darker side of life. But doesn't have anything written it at the moment.
Day 3: Stars
Scraping paint on gesso on these pages! We dyed canvas, ribbon and cheesecloth with inks. And then cut windows of different sizes in some of the pages.
I put various quotes in this book. Interestingly the paint combination has turned out darker in this one and perhaps would have been more suited to the Moon book.
Thanks to Dyan for organising this, to Dina for three amazing days and the generosity you showed in sharing your techniques, and to the two of you for providing such fun and laughter. A real tonic.
