Summer of Colo(u)r ~ or not!

So, here it is the first week of July and it is still raining and today I'm so cold I've put the central heating back on.  And I already had a vest, a warm jumper and a cardigan on!

Despite the cold, I blog hopped around all the UKS Sponsor blogs this morning and saw an amazing array of techniques and projects.

And having thought I was behind with last week's Summer of Color (although I wasn't!) I have spent some time today (in between watching Murray win his tennis match and watching stage 3 of the Tour de France) working on the next colour of ice cream.  Or maybe I watched the television in between parts of the page drying ~ that sounds better!

The next ice cream for Summer of Color is Wild 'N' Reckless.

I'm not at all sure I would actually want to try eating this.  The colours are fabulous for art but would I really want to eat them?

Strawberry Lemonade ~ SOC

My August copy of Craft Stamper arrived today and I was very taken by an article by Jaine Drake called 'Touchy Feely' and it provided me with the inspiration for my journal page for last week's Summer of Color icecream: Strawberry Lemonade.

And yes, I am a bit behind with this.

The technique included sticking a variety of items to the page and then coating the whole thing with gesso.

I then used some old colours of Dylusions spray inks and some Dylusions stamps.

A milestone

This week I reached a milestone in my weekly walks

This is week 26 of 2012 and in January I set myself the goal of taking a long walk each week for the whole year.

And this week was no exception.  Walk 26/52 was through the Wyre Forest to Bewdley and through Ribbesford back to the car.  8-9 miles of loveliness apart from the steep hill in the blazing sunshine towards the end.

And the best part is that in the 26 weeks I have actually done 30 long walks.
