Introducing Passport to Art

What is Passport to Art?

Passport to Art is a month long challenge blog at the end of which you will have made a travel-themed altered book.

This blog post is a copy of the information on Passport to Art.  Go over to the Passport to Art blog to follow the blog and receive the prompts every day in July.

So how will this work?

Each day for the whole month of July there will be a blog post with travel related links and prompts.

Each post will include:

A Theme
Over the month there will be poems and Bible passages as the theme.  Although this challenge blog is rather more aimed at Christian believers than my previous challenge blogs: An Attitude of Gratitude and An A to Z of Me, it is still possible to take part if you are not a believer.  The journaling prompts are open to interpretation and of course there are the techniques to try and the quotes to use.

A Quote
There will be a quote  related to the day's theme.  Some will be serious and some will be a bit off-beat.

A Bible Verse
I have included a Bible verse each day.  However just ignore it if it doesn't mean anything to you.

Inspiration
Where possible I have found videos, blogs or websites to provide inspiration for the day's theme.  Some might be a bit silly.

Journaling prompts
There will be questions for you to think about on the day's theme.  You can answer them or just use them to get you thinking.

Technique Challenge
Each day has a technique challenge to include in your journal.  This will be particularly for those keeping creative journals.  Keep reading even if that's not what you want to do.

Where possible I have found videos to demonstrate the technique or I will have added photos of examples.

Linky Tool
At the end of each post there will be an opportunity to link your day's page to the blog to share with other readers.  This can be a link to your blog, or if you haven't got a blog please use the Flickr group.

I have set up the Flickr group and if you already have a Flickr account please ask to join.  If you don't have a Flickr account it is easy to join and it is free.

The group has been set up for the photos to be public but any discussions to be for members only.

Facebook
I have set up a Facebook group where you can share your work and chat.

Next week I'll talk about what sort of book you will need to make an altered book.   If you don't want to alter a book you can journal, blog, scrapbook or record your response to the challenges in any way you choose.  It can be as simple as getting a small notebook and writing down things that come to mind as you read the blog.  It need be no more than that.  Or you can get involved in the techniques and challenges.

Remember the only rule is: this is your journal and you do it the way you want to. Other than that there are no rules.

I do hope you will join me in this new adventure.

The month of June

There's lots of  information about June today on 12 Months in View.

The challenge was to produce a page - or any other type of artwork - based on the inspiration to be found there.  This is my page using Distress Inks, some stencils and stamps.

Thanks for stopping by.

Introduction to Summer

On 12 Months in View today we are introduced to the season of Summer.

If you haven't joined in with 12 Months in View yet, today would be a good day to start with the introduction to the next 3 months.  You can always do the Spring challenges next year.  To find out how the challenge blog works go to this explanation.

The challenge for today was to produce a summer introductory page.

I put a thin layer of gesso on the page.  I used Dylusions inks, Distress inks, 4 stencils and Dylusions alphabet stamps.
