Flower of the Month

On 12 Months in View Susan challenged us to 'Create a journal page or a blog post about your recollections of roses.'

I used a heart stencil to draw the petals of wild roses and then added the stems and leaves freehand.  I used an Inktense pencil to colour over the pencil line.

Then I used a paintbrush and water with 3 colours of Inktense blocks to colour the leaves and add veins.   To colour the petals I wet the shape with water and then wet the brush again and took some paint directly from the pink Inktense block and then wiped the colour through the water on the page.

I drew round the petals with a black pen and then journaled round the flowers.

Spring Zine

On 12 Months in View we are making seasonal Zines.   Here are my finished pages for the Spring Zine.

I am planning to join all my Zines together to make one year long booklet so haven't done a cover for this.

June Zine

On 12 Months in View today there is a tutorial for the start of a new season Zine.

I did the background for the whole season.

I folded it into the little book and then worked on the double page for June.   I started by printing off a quote, cutting up, inking the edges and sticking it on.

I stamped the rose and the leaves with black Archival.

I stamped the month using Distress Ink.  I used a damp brush and Distress Ink pads to colour in the rose and the leaves.
