Gratitude Journal: Day 11

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Ideas.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the adding texture techniques.

I used an embossing ink pad through a stencil and added bronze embossing powder and heat set it.

I coloured the page with Distress Inks and stamped the light bulb with Butterscotch Adirondack ink.  I used letter stickers for the title.

I inked the edges of the verse and quote and stuck them down.

I put my journaling in the middle of the page.

The embossing technique is also a resist technique which is the theme for the next few days.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gratitude Journal: Day 10

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Home.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques adding texture to the page.

I had done the bubbling gesso technique on this page.

I used Distress Inks to colour over the whole page.  The gesso tends to absorb some of the colour.

I used the same colours of Distress Ink through part of a stencil. I inked the edges of the verse and the quote and stuck them down.  Then I decided to stamp the houses and stick the letters down.

I wrote my journaling in the doors of the houses.

Gratitude Journal: Day 9

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Generosity.

Today's art challenge was to use one of the techniques adding texture to the page.

I watched the video about bubbling the gesso and tried it with a cheap gesso.  I didn't really feel I got much of a result.

So I tried it with a better quality gesso on the page for tomorrow.

I sprayed two colours of Dylusions inks.

And smoothed it out with a dry paper towel.  I didn't use a wet wipe as that would have wiped the ink straight off.

I left it to dry and the gesso absorbed some of the colour so that it was more pastel which I like.  I used Distress Ink through a stencil.  I added the verse and the quote.  I stamped the title with my Dylusions alphabet stamps.

I journaled along the edges of the page.

Thanks for stopping by.
