Last week I introduced you to the Heart Journaling weekly challenge that I'm taking part in. This week's assignment was : 'Create a free-spirit spread (two-pages) using the concept of Sand, Sun, Beach, etc. This could be a tribute page to a past vacation, or some sort of paradise, beach-related.... Use any stamps you want, colors, etc.'
I used gesso for the clouds and then used 3 colours of blue Dylusions spray inks for sky, wiping the ink on with a baby wipe. I used Golden's Clear Granular Gel mixed with acrylic paint for the sand which I applied with a palette knife. I used Tim Holtz stamps for the birds and a set of stamps (I don't know the manufacturer's name) for the palm trees and umbrellas. I added some torn book paper for the waves.

Summer of Color ~ Completed
Oh yes! I've finished. I'm not as pleased as I might have been by the cover but then maybe I should have practised printing on canvas before I printed out the cover.
Unfortunately I didn't spot that there were 2 big black triangles on the back cover until it was printed.
I had hoped it would be brighter but I printed it on cream canvas rather than white so it is more muted. I inked the rest of the spaces with Distress inks.
Still! I have completed the 9 tasks set and with my past record of not completing things I am pleased.
Summer of Color ~ Orange
This is the last week of a particular colour in Summer of Color and it's orange. We also had to add a quote or a poem we liked.
Next week ~ the final week ~ the challenge is to display all of our work together. One of the suggestions was to make a cover so I'm off to try that now.
