D is for Decisions

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Decisions.

The technique today is to print with bubble wrap.  I put 3 different colours of acrylic paint on large bubble bubblewrap and pressed it down onto the page.

Then I painted a thin wash of green acrylic paint.  It felt a bit 'green' so I put some yellow as well.

Then I printed with the small bubble bubblewrap using orange and pale turquoise. I also spread a bit of the turquoise on the page with my fingers.

It was still too green so I toned it down with a thin wash of pale yellow.

I used a Dylusions stencil for the trees on the left and used a acrylic paint.  I turned the stencil over and pressed it onto the right side of the page.  I stamped the tree at the bottom right and used the same stamp at the top of the page.  I randomly drew round the stenciled trees with a black pen.  I stuck the quote and the verse on and did my journaling.  Finally I stamped the word for the day and coloured it in.

I hope it won't be too difficult a decision today on how to make your page.

C is for Creativity

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Creativity.

As you can see the stamping showed through from yesterday's page so I covered the whole page with gesso.

I covered the whole page with green watercolour paint and sprinkled cooking salt onto the page.  I put heaps in some places because I was hoping that this would create something I could make into flowers.  However the salt and watercolour technique didn't work so well because of the gesso I think.

I let the salt dry and then brushed it off.

Because the technique didn't work as well as I know it can, I got some really good quality watercolour paper and wet the paper and then put the paint on and added the salt.

This is the result after the salt had dried and been removed.

I drew hearts on the back of the paper and cut them out.  I inked round the hearts with distress ink. Before sticking the hearts on I used pan pastels through a couple of stencils.  I stamped today's word.  I might go back and colour the word in.   I stuck down the quote and the verse and added my journaling.

B is for Believe

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Believe.

I used the same colours of distress inks on this page as yesterday.

I used a Dylusions stencil and the Ripe Persimmon distress ink to randomly put pattern on the page.

Today's technique is to doodle in colour.  I don't doodle very much so I'm definitely going to sign up for Valerie's online class.  Instead I put my large acrylic block in the middle of the page and used a Dylusions stamp and archival ink to stamp around the edge of the large block.

Then I used my Inktense crayons to colour in the pattern.  And I stamped today's word.

I stuck the quote and the bible verse onto the page and then journaled between them.
