Day 29 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Appreciation.

Today's art challenge was to 'use a paper serviette as part of your page today'.

Today's page started with acrylic paint already on it from where I had mopped up paint from another page.  I really love these sunflower serviettes and use them quite often in my journals.

I tore off one corner of the serviette around the edge of the flower.  I carefully pulled the top layer of the serviette from the other 2 layers.  I brushed gel medium over the corner of the page and smoothed the serviette onto it.  I brushed a coat of gel medium thinly over the tissue to ensure it didn't get damaged by anything I did later.

I stamped more sunflowers at the top pf the page using the same technique as on November 21st.

I trimmed off the excess serviette and sprayed lemon ink and orange across the top left of the page.

I added the verse.

And journaled across the page following the contour of where the ink met the serviette.

I love this page because it actually ended up how I had seen it in my head.  That doesn't happen very often.

So satisfying.  I hope you have a satisfying day too.

See you tomorrow for our very last page.

Day 15 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Music.

Today's art challenge was to 'use music paper either under your background or as part of the embellishment on your page today'.

First of all I glued a piece of music to my page.

I stamped randomly with a music stamp and then use 2 stencils and 2 colours of spray inks.

I sprayed some orange ink  and blotted it with my rag.  The white line down the middle is pure serendipity ~ which is a posh word for 'I have no idea how that happened'!  But I decided I would keep it.

I stuck on the Bible verse and then did the journaling along the white shape.  You see it was there for a purpose!

I love it.

See you tomorrow.

Day 12 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on My Neighbourhood.

Today's art challenge was to 'include a map on your page today'.

I tore a piece from an old map of the area I live in which includes my road and stuck it onto the paper with gel medium.

I put a layer of gesso over the whole page with a lighter scraping across the map itself.

I sprayed the whole page with Lime spray ink and wiped it with a baby wipe.

I sprayed orange ink and some water at the top of the page and let it drip down.  I dabbed the ink with my cloth which meant it doesn't show up very much.  Then I did the same thing with turquoise.

I randomly printed onto the page with a map stamp and then added my verse and my journaling.

I really like how layered this looks despite the fact it really doesn't have that many layers.

I hope you are finding my interpretations of the challenges useful.

See you tomorrow.

Day 3 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

News
If you are on Facebook, I have set up An Attitude of Gratitude Journal Challenge group where you can share your thoughts on the daily theme or link your blog or add a photo.
Originally I wasn't going to have a Facebook group but there are a few people who are following along who don't have blogs or Flickr accounts themselves or who are making lists but not doing any art so I thought I would give a forum for that.  The group is open for everyone so do join in.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Creativity.

Today's art challenge was to 'draw freehand using any media you own'.

I forgot to photograph what I did as I went along so it will be mostly writing today!

I started by putting some 'clouds' of gel medium on the page ~ which you can't see in the photo and which actually didn't work well because I was rather too sparing with the gel medium.  When it was dry I went over the whole page with Distress Ink.  I started with Tumbled Glass and then added Faded Jeans.

I then started drawing with Inktense Pencils.  Any watercolour pencils will do!  I drew the tree, the grass and the stream and then used a wet brush over all the drawing.

I added a few highlights with a black pen and a white pen.  I stuck on the bible verse and added my journaling.

Remember you can interpret the challenge in any way you choose.  This is just my interpretation.

Have fun.
