Day 27 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal
If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.
Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Travel.
Today's art challenge was to 'use an art medium you rarely use'.
When I bought the Pan Pastels I used them quite often but I haven't used them for quite a while so I thought they fitted today's challenge.
I started by using Pan Pastels through an arrow template. At which point I forgot to take a photograph. I tried to 'fix' it with hairspray. This is my usual method of making sure the pan pastel or chalks, if I'm using them, stick to the page. However the hairspray decided not to spray finely but to glug all over the page so it was quite wet. It seems to have survived. Then I stamped over the whole page with a 'crackle' stamp which I think looks a bit like a map.
Here's a closeup.
I sponged Peacock Feathers Distress Ink over the whole page. Then stamped the lamps, the quote, the compass and 'enjoy the journey'. I also inked the the verse and stuck it on.
Finally I added the journaling.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you use today. See you tomorrow.

Day 14 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal
Welcome to all the new people who are following this blog. I hope you are enjoying it.
If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.
It isn't too late to join in. Start with today's challenge and work through to the end and then go back to day 1.
Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Education.
Today's art challenge was to 'try Kaz Hall's ink and liquid pearls technique'.
This is the resist side of the Kraft Resist paper. I inked this with Distress Inks. The darker you make the page the more the resist stands out.
I randomly stamped numbers and alphabets over the page and tried some white gesso through the stencil in a couple of places.
The using a silver Liquid Pearls - the only colour I own, I spread the Liquid Pearls through the stencil as in the video.
And left it to dry.
I added my verse and the journaling.

This was a lovely quick page to do and yet it looks as though I spent a long time on it.
I am looking forward to seeing what you have all learned.

Day 7 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal
If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.
Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Encouragement.
Today's art challenge was to 'make a stencil to use on your page today'.
I used the Sizzix Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die to cut out a stencil. I used a piece of thick card and cut out the whole die.
I shall keep the leaves to use for something else. If you want to make your stencil more permanent either gel medium over the card to make it more waterproof or use a sheet of acetate.
I took 3 colours of reinkers and dribbled them onto my glass plate. It's actually a kitchen cutting plate and I use this instead of the non-stick mats most people use.
I added a squirt of water.
And then put the watercolour paper down onto the inks and moved the paper about. I dabbed it off onto the backing paper to reduce the wetness.
I used spray inks through the stencil. I took the photo while the ink was still wet so you can easily see the leaves but as the inks dried they were absorbed into the paper and became shadows.
I used the stencil and a white pen to go round the edges of the leaves. I did it again with a black pen. I did it really quickly and didn't worry about the accuracy of the outlining.
I wrote my journaling around the edges of the leaves and the names of the peole who encourage me on the leaves.

I like the fact that the inks didn't reach all of the paper and that there is some white showing.
I am looking forward to see how you make your stencil today.

Day 3 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal
If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.
News
If you are on Facebook, I have set up An Attitude of Gratitude Journal Challenge group where you can share your thoughts on the daily theme or link your blog or add a photo.
Originally I wasn't going to have a Facebook group but there are a few people who are following along who don't have blogs or Flickr accounts themselves or who are making lists but not doing any art so I thought I would give a forum for that. The group is open for everyone so do join in.
Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Creativity.
Today's art challenge was to 'draw freehand using any media you own'.
I forgot to photograph what I did as I went along so it will be mostly writing today!
I started by putting some 'clouds' of gel medium on the page ~ which you can't see in the photo and which actually didn't work well because I was rather too sparing with the gel medium. When it was dry I went over the whole page with Distress Ink. I started with Tumbled Glass and then added Faded Jeans.
I then started drawing with Inktense Pencils. Any watercolour pencils will do! I drew the tree, the grass and the stream and then used a wet brush over all the drawing.

Remember you can interpret the challenge in any way you choose. This is just my interpretation.
Have fun.
