Day 14 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Education.

Today's art challenge was to 'try Kaz Hall's ink and liquid pearls technique'.

This is the resist side of the Kraft Resist paper.   I inked this with Distress Inks.  The darker you make the page the more the resist stands out.

I randomly stamped numbers and alphabets over the page and tried some white gesso through the stencil in a couple of places.

The using a silver Liquid Pearls - the only colour I own, I spread the Liquid Pearls through the stencil as in the video.

And left it to dry.

I added my verse and the journaling.

 

This was a lovely quick page to do and yet it looks as though I spent a long time on it.

I am looking forward to seeing what you have all learned.

Day 13 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Childhood.

Today's art challenge was to 'find a creative way to add a tag to your page'.

This is the back of a piece of Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper which is very absorbent.  After I sprayed ink on it I didn't much like the result.

So I scraped some acrylic paint across it and also used the acrylic to stencil onto a black tag.  I was really stuck on how to add the tag creatively.  I hope you come up with some interesting ideas!

Then I had a light bulb moment as I looked at the theme.  I took some scrapbooking paper and zigzag folded it. Drew my doll shape and cut it out.

And here are my 'children' holding hands.

I used gel medium to stick them down across the tag to hold the tag to the page. (I'm sure there are more creative ways to add a tag but they all escaped me as I did this!)   I had also stencilled the edge with white gesso which absorbed some of the ink and then added highlights with black pen.  I did my journaling on one of the paper children.

 

I'm really pleased with how this turned out as there were several times when I thought I should give up on it.
