Our second little trip away was to Derbyshire. We went to a wedding in Sheffield and to the reception which was near Buxton. We decided to book into a B&B in Tideswell and have a couple of extra days away. Strange to say I have no photos of the wedding.
However there are lots of photos of the other two days! But I have culled them so you don't need to worry.
This is one of the lanes in Tideswell.
And the view from the top of the hill across Derbyshire.
And another view.
We went a walk along the river and up onto the hills.
We managed to squeeze through this gap in the wall called a Squeezer Stile.
The river
We visited Castleton. This is Peveril Castle
A view of Castleton.
A visit to Haddon Hall
A fabulous time.
Thanks for stopping by.

October week 1: Transformation
For Take Me Deeper at His Kingdom Come we are looking back at the prompts for previous months. This week we are looking at January's theme of Transformation.
I glued down some torn pieces of map, music and book pages and then brushed a thin layer of gesso over the top. I wiped some of the gesso off with a wet wipe.
Using acrylic ink I dropped some ink on the page and then sprayed it with water.
I did the same again with the next colour.
With the orange I tried spraying the water first and then dropping the ink into it. I inked round the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then wiped it with a wet wipe before inking again.
I found bits and pieces to glue down and added the words.
Thanks for stopping by.

Catching Up
During July and August, Roger and I went away for a few days several times. I've realised that I haven't shared the photos from these trips and I know that several of you - usually American friends and followers - enjoy seeing the British countryside.
Our first jaunt was to Llanidloes in mid-Wales. It's one of those places we've never been to - the sort you see on a signpost and never quite make it there. Originally I was going to a 3 day workshop there but this was cancelled. Undaunted Roger and I took the opportunity to drive about the area.
On our way we spotted these abbey ruins.
This is the hotel we stayed in. Although to be honest it was run like a guest house!
The market place in Llanidloes.
The river running through Llanidloes.
The countryside around Llanidloes.
We went for a walk and I spotted these shapes in the logs.
There were some gentle waterfalls
We spotted these guys. We thought they were toys until they moved!
A larger waterfall
One of the reservoir dams in the Elan Valley
And on the way home we went to Eastnor Castle. I've wanted to visit for a long time but it was always closed on the days we happened to be going past.
I hope you've enjoyed a look around mid-Wales.
Thanks for stopping by.
