Almost finished or possibly not!

In my post I've been a bit busy! I showed you the start of my pages in my Art-full Attaché.  I have continued to work on it and I can now reveal two thirds of the Attaché journal.

This journal is not a prerequisite of the Finding Sanctuary workshop but I know that if I just take lots of photos, bits of paper with quotes on and other stuff on the supply list with me, I will waste a considerable part of the 3 days trying to make up my mind what I am doing.  This journal will hopefully pin my ideas down a bit more.

I've added quotes since you saw this page last

I used a paper napkin on this page and the one above

More pages

On the right is a plastic pocket to put bits and pieces in.  I collected feathers from the beach so I may put those in there or the spare photos that I have.

The third signature in my Attaché journal is about the inside of my friend's house so I won't be sharing most of those photos and pages here.

I am hoping that when I am on the Finding Sanctuary course I will be able to add to this journal.  I know that Hilary will talk to us about making our own stamps and I envisage making some using the bird outlines.  I shall then stamp them on the pages of my journal.

Thanks for stopping by.

I've been a bit busy!

I did it again.  I signed up for lots more classes.  Not just online ones but some real life ones too.

One of the online classes I signed up for was a short duration class with Dione Swift - Developing Sketchbooks - which was excellent.  I wasn't thrilled with some of my pages but the techniques and principles apply to anything and I hope to get back to it sometime.

I went to a 2 day class in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire taught by Kim Thittichai where we played with Lutradur, Tyvek, Bondaweb and polyester organza using irons and heatguns.

There's nothing like a bit of bling!

A 3D thing!  It was supposed to be a bowl.

And other exciting bits and pieces.

Last Saturday I went to a Shibori Indigo Dyeing workshop led by Liske and Claire at Littleheath Barn.   We tried lots of different ways of tying the cloth and then dyeing them in the indigo dye.

I have also been working on the art journal I'm making from Roben-Marie Smith's online class: Art-full Attache.   I added the handles and stitched the signatures into the folder.  I have started on filling the pages.

I am going on a 3 day workshop with Hilary Beattie called Finding Sanctuary in July and I am using this Art-full Attache to collect together the photographs and ideas for the class.  I'm also looking at colour schemes mostly in blue, sand and neutrals.

I can't tell you whose photos have been used by Design Seeds as I can't find the information on their website.  I had downloaded the colour charts from Pinterest.

Hilary is repeating the Finding Sanctuary class in October at The Bramble Patch if you are interested.

And there are some other classes I haven't mentioned One Little Word (I'm nearly 2 months behind!), Art and Spirituality (3 weeks behind) and Pathfinder.

Come back on Monday for those updates and a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT.

Thanks for stopping by.

Art-full Attache Update

At last I have started work on the Art-Full Attache class I told you about last month.   The class is full of excellent how-to videos.

I have done the front cover.

I have done the first part of each set of pages to make 3 signatures.  I used variegated thread and my new-to-me sewing machine although I don't think I've got the tension right.

I used some of the gelli prints I made as part of the pages.

There's lots more to do to these pages yet before I can start using the journal for the purpose I have in mind.

Thanks for stopping by.

Art-Full Attaché

I signed up for an online class from Roben-Marie Smith called Art-Full Attaché.  I love her classes and this time instead of jumping straight in and doing the project I have been taking my time to watch the videos - there are over 50 of them!  And at the same time thinking about what I learned about the colours I like and what my voice might be in it all.

Sticking with the colour scheme I decided to play with the gelli plate.  I restricted the colours and the stencils and came up with these.  I have scanned them into the computer which has dulled them down a bit.

And this is my favourite

I printed out two of them onto thin card and then cut them up into pieces - a 6x4", two 4x3", some strips and punched some circles.  The joy of having them as photos is that I can print them out and cut them out in any format I want.   I could also alter the colour in a photo editor, (if I had one!)

I'm going to search my stash for a variety of papers and make myself up a kit and then I'll be ready to start - once I've watched all of the videos.

Thanks for stopping by.
