More boats and birds

The weather was much better on the next day.  We drove along  the coast dipping in and out of lanes to the sea.  Eventually we stopped at Brancaster Staithe.  Be  prepared for a lot of photos today.

 

 We moved on to Burnham Overy Staithe

We drove to Blakeney for lunch and saw this windmill at Cley-next-the-sea on our way to Cromer.

We drove through Sheringham and didn't stop.  It was heaving with people which seemed odd to us on a coldish Wednesday at the end of September.  Perhaps they were all like us - just keen to have a few days away.  At Cromer we had a walk along the pier and along the promenade.

20 days in North America: Vancouver pt 2

Our second day in Vancouver turned out to be mostly monochrome!  We took the bus to Stanley Park and walked most of the seawall walk - around 5 miles or so.

We did see some colour during the walk.

We walked back into Vancouver and found one of the little ferry boats that move up and down the river.

 We used the ferry like a boat trip seeing parts of the city we hadn't walked aorund.

We went further out to the Maritime Museum.

And then back on the ferry to Granville Island where we saw the other side of the Concrete place.

And a fabulous art shop

Back at the hotel later our view from our room at bedtime.

Rust & Decay

Later in the year I am attending a workshop called The Poetry of Decay at The Bramble Patch.  I have no idea what photographic inspiration I will need for that but during our trip to Suffolk and Essex I took the opportunity to take lots of photographs of rust and decay.  107 actually.  However rest assured I'm not sharing all of them here.

There were lots of chains and decaying boats - so here are a few of the photos without explanation.
