Today's post is about Boaz being the Kinsman-Redeemer for Ruth in Ruth 4:1-22

I had been watching some short videos by Hilary Beattie on using Gelatos and thought I would try them on the page.  I glued pieces of hymn book music to the page with Matte Medium and glued over the top.

I put the colours at the top of the page and spritzed water and held the page up so the coloured water would drip down.

It didn't work particularly well - either I hadn't put enough colour or the the gelato didn't like the glue!

Then I drew a cross with the Stabilo pencil and wet it with a wet brush.  The water reacted with the glue!  I used sticker letters for the words.

Art-Full Attaché

I signed up for an online class from Roben-Marie Smith called Art-Full Attaché.  I love her classes and this time instead of jumping straight in and doing the project I have been taking my time to watch the videos - there are over 50 of them!  And at the same time thinking about what I learned about the colours I like and what my voice might be in it all.

Sticking with the colour scheme I decided to play with the gelli plate.  I restricted the colours and the stencils and came up with these.  I have scanned them into the computer which has dulled them down a bit.

And this is my favourite

I printed out two of them onto thin card and then cut them up into pieces - a 6x4", two 4x3", some strips and punched some circles.  The joy of having them as photos is that I can print them out and cut them out in any format I want.   I could also alter the colour in a photo editor, (if I had one!)

I'm going to search my stash for a variety of papers and make myself up a kit and then I'll be ready to start - once I've watched all of the videos.

Kidderminster to Cookley

The walk I shared with you the other day ended here in Kidderminster.

So for this walk we took the train to Kidderminster and walked through the town back to that point to start this walk.

It's hard to believe that this in the middle of the town

Along the canal we saw this sculpture of kingfishers carved out of a tree stump.

This was an interesting bridge and lock combined at Wolverley.

In Wolverley itself, there is an 18th century Italianate church on top of a hill which dwarfs the houses below.

This was another interesting building we saw in the village.

Some of these houses have rooms which have been carved out of the rockface.

We went back to the canal where we stopped at the pub for lunch.

We continued our walk along the canal to Cookley.

At the entrance to the tunnel we walked up the path to the road where we got a bus back to Kidderminster and the train home.  This walk had only been 6.17 miles.
