December 2012

How will you record your memories of December or Christmas 2012? Or even 2012 itself?

Some people like to use the ideas from Ali Edwards for December Daily.  Others use Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas.  Some people keep an Advent Journal recording their thoughts about the true meaning of Christmas. Or how about trying Reverb 2012 with Hope Wallace.

I couldn't decide what to do.  I think I was all crafting-daily-out after 30 days of An Attitude of Gratitude and a holiday in Florida.

But then I saw these gorgeous papers from Anita: Christmas Carol Painted Papers

They are available as jpegs and I put them into Publisher to print off this time.

I decided I would make tags so I put 6 pieces of card in my printer and put 2 images on each Publisher page in landscape format.   I printed off all the designs then mixed up the printed sheets and printed them again on the back.  My card isn't very thick so I only printed with text quality.  If I had used manila card I would have printed picture quality.
Then I cut up the sheets to make 31 tags (well actually 32 - 16 doublesided tags) plus 2 covers.  I stuck the cover papers onto a manila tag and cut it down to size and then stuck another pattern on the back.

After I got this far I saw this blog post from Hope about her Reverb 2012 book.  So I decided to put blank tags in between the printed tags and follow along with the Reverb questions.

I am using Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink to edge each tag and to stamp with.

I looked through my scrapbooking stash for numbers and embellishments.  I used an Artist Cellar stencil that I bought in the States for the background on this tag.

This stamp is a Tim Holtz one bought from Joann's.

And this is another new stamp.

This is a Dyan Reaveley stencil.
I may decorate the tags further with embellishments, although I think Anita's designs are so lovely that I have difficulty covering them up!

If you would like to win a set of these pages please leave me a comment and I will choose a winner on Saturday morning. (10am GMT)

  2. I've not come across reverb before, but I'd love to do something with it as a way of reviewing and remembering the year, thanks for the link.

The tags are great - and I am growling as I was intending on making tags with them as well! I'll have to think of something different now! :D
