I found an old CD.
I decided to the use the stencilled newspaper from last month's technique challenge.
I covered the written side of the CD with Gel Medium and stuck the paper down and smoothed out as many of air bubbles as possible.
I cut off the excess and left it to dry.
When it was dry I cut round the CD.
I decided to cut out the hole in the middle and then cover the back of the CD in the same way as the front.
I cut through again and then added ribbon.
I found some chipboard butterflies and a piece that looks like sticks and painted a thin coat of gesso over them. I sprayed the butterflies randomly with 3 colours. I stuck the sticks diecut onto the CD with Glossy Accents and then attached the butterflies. I put a small amount of glossy accents on each butterfly and spread it across the ink to make it shine.
I found some fabric embellishments which I painted pink with Spray Ink and a brush. (The spray wouldn't work!). I attached the flowers to the back with Glossy Accents and then put Stickles in the middle of the flowers and left it to dry.
I hope you enjoyed today's challenge. Thanks for stopping by.
Bernice
I really like how this turned out and how you incorporated the newspaper project and little scrap pieces to create a visually appealing piece of art from what otherwise would be trash.
ReplyDeleteAwesome interpretation of the lesson, Bernice. Well done!! Cheers! Joanna
