Make It Personal Session 2 Day 2

Don't worry! You haven't missed Day 1.  I did so much printing over the two days of the class that I am doing 2 posts but prefer what I did on day 2 so starting with that.  I posted about Session 1 here.

Session 2 was called Rubbings, Monoprints and Resists.

On the second day we used Gelli plates to print onto paper and fabric.  As usualy I didn't follow the instructions so whereas Hilary said to take print once or at a pinch twice onto the same piece of paper I did more.  And here are the results. Be prepared for a lot of photos.

Printed on brown paper

Printed on repair tissue

I used a bit of this in my sketchbook.

In copy paper or fabric.

Some of the prints were dyed with fabric dye afterwards but those with very little white showing were left as they were.

Thanks for stopping by.

PS: I'll show you the other rubbings and printing tomorrow.

Planner Update

I have enjoyed playing with my planner as part of the Documented Life Project.  I haven't always taken part in the challenges however I have done the last four.   I am also including the Psalms study which is where the printouts are from.

Week 9 challenge: Collage something you recycled

Week 10: Make a list of the things that make you YOU

Week 11: Draw, photograph or collage a bird onto your page.
I had received some Happy Mail in the post and I used some of it to make the birds.

We went to London for two days and I collaged about the trip.  At the National Maritime Museum I was given a large paper carrier bag which I cut up and stuck onto the flaps.

And here's this week.
Week 12: Cut up a magazine..add!   I punched the butterflies out of magazine pages and stuck them on.

Here's the inside of the flap before I added the Psalm.

And with it.

The lined page ready for journaling.

Thanks for stopping by.

Playing

I haven't played in my journal for a while - just for the joy of playing.  It has usually been for a class or a project I'm hosting.   But in Saturday I saw this blog post by Linda Cain and thought I would have a go.

I started by cutting the pages and then spraying them with Dylusions inks. Then I used stencils and White Linen ink or just water.

I didn't like what I had done on two of the pages so I pulled them out and inked the next pages.  Then I started putting patterns using stencils and stamps

There's still lots of colour and doodles to go.

I cut up one of the pages I had pulled out and stuck it in my Documented Life Planner for this week's challenge which was to cut up a magazine and add it.  I used punches to cut up butterflies which I stuck to my background.  This may have extra doodles added at some point.

Thanks for stopping by.
