Junk Journal Swap

I decided to take up Sandie Cottee's invitation to take part in a Junk Journal swap.  You can find out more information about how to do it here.   There's still time for you to sign up.

First I made my covers.  I used the board from the back of an art pad and stuck scrapbook paper on it.
These are the inside of the covers.
I thought this project would be a good opportunity to use up some of my scrapbook cardstock stash.  Here are the 5 double-sided pages that I haven't altered.

And here are the pages I altered.
And the other sides.
And I put together a little collection of bits and bobs to send as well.

I hope whoever receives my pages in their junk journal enjoys using them.

All I need to do now is package them up and post them off to Sandie.

Thanks for stopping by.

Planner Update

I haven't really felt the love for my planner during May.  I found that I had lots of blank pages.  If you follow the actual project you will see there's lots of mixed media type stuff going on but that isn't particularly what I have been doing in my planner.

Anyway, I made myself sit down during the week and put together the rest of the missing pages.

Week 19

The action in One Little Word for May was to make 9 little cards with I am statements on them.  I made 8 cards and stuck 4 of them here and 4 of them into week 21.  The photos on the right are the layouts I made at the charity crop.

Week 20

The photos on the right are one from each of the 3 walks we did in Derbyshire.  At the bottom of the middle page are some of the papers I painted at the Saturday workshop.

Week 21
I stuck in a piece of the fabric I made on the Screen Printing workshop.

The challenge for week 22 was to draw, paint or sketch a house.  I collaged some bits from some tags I had already painted and stuck them into week 21.

Hopefully I will start enjoying the project again.

Thanks for stopping by.

Documented Life & One Little Word

Here are my pages for the last few weeks.  I am really pleased with myself that I am keeping up with this.  Sometimes I fill it in on the day and sometimes I do several days at once to finish the week.

Week 16

While I was away I received a thank you card which I stuck into my planner.

Week 17

The prompt for One Little Word for April was to let something go which I wrote about on the photo.  The other part of the prompt was to use photos to demonstrate how I was connecting to my word.

Week 18
This week we went to the Bluebell Woods near Yoxall and I stuck the leaflet into my planner.

I didn't have much to write about so I stuck the flap down to the lined page.  The little April flap is part of One Little Word where we reflect on the month.

Thanks for stopping by.

Documented Life update

I have kept working on my Documented Life planner - even taking it with me to Florida - which added some weight to the luggage!!  While I was in the States I fed my Washi Tape addiction buying over 30 rolls!  Added to what I already own my tapes look like this:

On to the Documented Life update.  You can see other Documented Life posts by clicking on Documented Life Project at the bottom of this post.

Week 12

The challenge was to use bits cut from magazines.  I punched the butterflies.

Week 13
The challenge was to have someone else draw in your book and as I couldn't cope with that I stamped with a Dyan Reaveley stamp.  I thought that might count since I know her!

Week 14

The challenge was to write your name and decorate it.  It probably needs some more doodling.

Week 15
I ignored this week's challenge.

And then I took the scissors to the spine of my Planner and cut it open!

Come back tomorrow for an update of the update!  And what happened to the planner!

Thanks for stopping by.

Day 26 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Dreams.

Today's art challenge was to 'make your own washi tape to use on your page today'.

I thought I would try making my version of washi tape using surgical tape.  I stuck some down on my glass plate and stamped on it.  I sprayed some in on it but it seeped underneath and I was concerned it might stop it being sticky so I used Distress Ink instead.

Then I went a bit berserk with a star stencil and the Fall Seasonal Distress Inks.

And then I added some glimmer mist!!!

One of the joys of having the glass plate was that I could put the tape over the top of the page to see if it would work!

Which is when I decided it didn't and added some acrylic paint to it using my fingers.  I added it to the page but wasn't particularly impressed with it.

So I made some more tape using just Archival Ink.

I put the new tape over the old tape.  Sprayed the cut up verse and stuck it on.

I highlighted some of the stars, doodled along the sides of the tape and journaled between the cut up verse.

I think it's still too busy a background for me and would probably have started again except I'd already done the other side of the page.  I suppose I could have covered it with gesso or sprayed more ink over it.

Still there it is.  A very starry page.

I hope you have a better day.  See you tomorrow.
