Day 8 My Attitude of Gratitude Journal

If you want to join in with making an Attitude of Gratitude Journal through the month of November click through to the Challenge blog.

Here on this blog I am going to share how I made the page for today's prompt on Self.

Today's art challenge was to 'draw a picture of yourself or find a photograph of yourself to stick in the journal. Cut out words from magazines that describe you in positive terms and stick them on your page'.

I sprayed Butterscotch Colorwash through a stencil into the watercolour page on the right.  I wiped the stencil off on a piece of manila card (on the left).

I sprayed some inks randomly on the page and let them run across before dabbing it dry with my cloth.

I printed a photo of me onto an ordinary piece of copy paper and tore round it.  I used gel medium to stick it to the page.

I didn't have any magazines so I typed some words using different fonts.  Last year I did the Christy Tomlinson class 'She had 3 hearts' and one of the exercises was to ask your firends to describe you in three words so I used some of those words for this page.

I added the odd black line to the stencilled arrows and wrote my journaling around the outside of the stuck on words.

I hope you enjoy today's prompt.   See you tomorrow.
