Technique Challenge

On 12 Months in View yesterday there was a video of a very simple Distress Ink technique.  I watched the video and then did these 4 tags.

I followed the instructions on the video for this tag and then went over the first layer of colour with one of the colours through a stencil.  Then stamped the phrase.

For this tag I stamped the colours with Distress Ink and then found several small stamps that I had and stamped with Black Archival.

With this one, I stamped the image on the tag first and then stamped it again on a piece of paper.  I cut the image out and put it on top of the stamped image on the tag before putting the colour onto the tag.

With this tag I coloured the whole of the tag with yellow and then stamped the distress ink over the top.  Then I drew round the shapes with a black pen and added some doodling.

I have stuck all the tags into my journal.

While I was doing these tags the background reminded me of a patchwork quilt or bedspread.  I decided to do a whole page in my journal.  I did the 'stamping' technique and then went over the whole page with different colours through a stencil.  I printed out the poem 'Bed in Summer' by Robert Louis Stevenson, cut it up and inked it, then stuck it on the page.

Thanks for stopping by.
