For 21 days in May I am running an art challenge blog called The Art of Practising Gratitude. Today's post is here. On my blog I am showing what I did in response to the blog post.
Today's art challenge was Kaz Hall's glue stick resist technique. I have used this before quite successfully but today was another story.
First of all my pages had stuck together when I was preparing them and I hadn't noticed before, so when I pulled the pages apart there was some damage. I chose to think of this as adding extra distress and texture to the page!
I use 2 Dylusions stamps and stamped the glue onto the page. It is there, honest!
I dried the glue with the heat gun and then applied 2 colours of Distress Ink.
And then tried to wipe off the glue. It wiped off the ink! So I left it with the dried glue on the page. I think the quality of the paper and the watercolour paint didn't make the right surface for the technique!
I added a bit more pattern with Distress Inks through a stencil and stamped the word smile.
I cut up the Bible verse, inked the edges and glued the pieces down. I journaled across the top of the page. I'm going to keep a piece of greaseproof paper between the pages until the glue has totally dried.
Thanks for stopping by.
Bernice
That's what I love about art journalling, responding to the unexpected! Lovely colours Bernice
