This month's theme for Take Me Deeper, written by Mary Brack, is Shaped By Gratitude.
I like to prepare the backgrounds for all my pages for the month and I decided that I would shape the pages in my journal and use stencils with an obvious shape.
I used my Dylusions Journal block to draw the shape on the page just past half way across.
I cut along the line.
I held the cut page down and drew another line on the next page about an inch away and cut along the line.
And the same on the the next page
At this point I could have added the pieces I had cut away into my book but chose not ot.
I chose a map stencil and a hexagon stencil and sprayed ink through both of them together.
It wasn't as effective as I had hoped.
I printed the wet map stencil on this page and then sprayed through the hexagon stencil.
And this one.
I only used the map stencil on the last pages.
So on to week 1. The prompt was about being thankful in all things. But the thing that stood out to me was about our perspective on things. I drew round a wooden grass shape and coloured it in with black pen. I put the shape different ways up on the pages.
I printed verses and cut them out in hexagons. I inked the edges with Distress ink.
Then using several differents sets of letters I put 'it's all about perspective' running down the page.
What's your perspective on life? Do you look at things from a negative point of view or a positive perspective?
Thanks for stopping by.

I love the colours and printing techniques Bernice.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea Bernice and I love the colors. I'm curious about what you're going to do with the pages you cut away that are blank underneath.
ReplyDeleteBernice, I love these pages and especially your faux stitches.

Love the textures created by cutting the curved edges. So pretty, especially with the stitches.
